Responsible Play

At Cold Lake Casino we believe gambling should be a form of entertainment, enjoyed in moderation and within your means. It should never be a way to make money or escape problems. We give you practical tools to stay in control, we watch for signs that play may be causing harm, and we point you to free, confidential help whenever you need it.

Our Commitment

  • We only accept players aged 19 and over.
  • We carry out KYC and geolocation checks before any deposit is accepted.
  • We give you easy-to-use tools to manage your time and money.
  • We train our staff to recognise warning signs and to respond with care.
  • We do not send marketing to players who are on a break or self-excluded.
  • We may contact you, or restrict your account, if we have concerns about your wellbeing.

Tips for Safer Play

  • Set a budget before you play and stick to it.
  • Only gamble with money you can afford to lose; never use money for rent, bills or food.
  • Decide how long you will play and take regular breaks.
  • Do not chase losses.
  • Avoid gambling when you are upset, stressed, or have been drinking.
  • Keep gambling in balance with work, family and other activities.

Tools You Control

Deposit, wager and stake limits. You can set limits on how much you deposit, how much you wager in total, and how much you stake per bet, over a daily, weekly or monthly period. Once a limit is reached, you will not be able to deposit or bet further until the period resets.

Reality checks and time alerts. You can choose to receive pop-up reminders at set intervals during a session. Each reminder shows how long you have been playing and your activity, so you can decide whether to continue or stop.

Take a break (cooling-off). If you want some time away, you can take a break from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During that time you will not be able to log in to play or deposit, and you will not receive marketing. Your account reopens automatically when the break ends.

Self-exclusion and account closure. If you feel you need a longer break or want to stop gambling altogether, you can self-exclude or close your account. Self-exclusion cannot be reversed before the period ends. We will refund any remaining balance after verification and remove you from all marketing. We also encourage you to consider any provincial self-exclusion programme available where you live.

Self-assessment quiz. A short, private quiz helps you reflect on your gambling habits and spot early warning signs.

KYC and geolocation checks. Before any deposit, we verify your identity, age and location. This protects minors, prevents fraud and makes sure play takes place only where it is permitted.

How Limits Take Effect

You can set or change your limits in your account settings or by emailing us.

  • Decreasing a limit, or setting a new one, takes effect instantly.
  • Increasing or removing a limit only takes effect after 24 hours. This waiting period gives you time to reconsider the change.

Self-Assessment

Ask yourself these questions honestly:

  • Do you spend more time or money gambling than you planned?
  • Do you gamble to win back money you have lost?
  • Have you borrowed money or sold things to gamble?
  • Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down?
  • Has gambling caused problems with family, friends, work or study?
  • Do you hide your gambling from people close to you?
  • Do you gamble to escape worries or low moods?

If you answered yes to any of these, it may be time to set limits, take a break or speak to one of the support organisations listed below. Our self-assessment quiz in your account gives you a fuller picture.

Protecting Minors

Gambling is for adults only. We verify every player's age before any deposit. If you share a device with young people, please keep your login details private, log out after each session and use parental-control or filtering software. See our Underage Gambling Policy for more information.
